My journey in the hair industry began way back in high school when I started assisting at a local salon part-time. Though I loved it, I wanted to pursue my education to see what other opportunities might interest me. I grew up in Maryland, but Boston has become my home since coming to Massachusetts in 2001 to attend Northeastern University. While attending NU, I worked part-time as a receptionist at a salon on Newbury Street. It was there where I truly fell in love with the world of hair. Upon completing my Bachelor's degree in Communications at NU in 2005, I decided to pursue my long-held passion and enrolled in hair school.
For 16 years I worked at a salon on Newbury Street, building long-lasting relationships with many of my clients before taking the leap to open Petaloúda. I am so grateful for all of their support and loyalty, and it's been amazing to continue making new connections at Petaloúda!

Lived in dimensional blondes and brunettes & extensions!
Some hair that you will be better suited with one of my coworkers is:
Reds and short hair. Those stylists are: Morgan & Laurene, respectively!
When I’m not behind the chair, you can find me:
Hanging with my adorable French Bulldog puppy Henry, or hopping around Boston and hitting up one of my favorite workout classes.

I grew up in Bow, New Hampshire, but am a city girl at heart. So, after graduating from Paul Mitchell the School in Tampa, FL, I quickly made the move to Boston to continue my hairdressing career. After five fulfilling years at a top salon on Newbury Street, I'm thrilled to be joining the Petaloúda team here in Brookline.
My passion lies in creating effortless confidence for my clients. Whether it's a bang trim or a transformative style change, I love helping them look and feel their absolute best. I can't wait to welcome you to my chair at Petaloúda!

I was born and raised in Melrose, MA, and remain a proud resident still to this day. It has been a dream to raise my own daughters in my hometown.
I began my salon experience at the very young age of 13, working at a local salon. After two years of college in 1993, I went to the Learning Institute of Beauty Sciences (LIBS) and began working at a salon on Newbury Street shortly thereafter. While I took some time off to be a full-time mom when my girls were young, Newbury Street remained my professional home for most of my career.
Now, in this exciting next chapter, it feels like I’m coming full circle! Petaloúda, located in Brookline, is not far from where I attended college all those years ago!
Throughout my career, I've consistently found joy in working with people and helping them feel their absolute best, both inside and out. Fashion has always moved me and continues to challenge me in the best ways
My favorite hair to do is:
I love cutting short hair! It’s not something that often lands in your chair, but when it does it makes me the happiest!
When I’m not behind the chair, you can find me:
In the kitchen! Cooking is another creative outlet that I love! Hanging out or traveling with my adult daughters, and taking care of my home, gardening, riding my Peloton & beautiful walks on Cape Cod, my “other” home.

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and spent my childhood bouncing around between Florida and Kansas. In 2021 I took a purely intuitive leap of faith and now happily call Boston my home where my journey in the beauty industry began. I’ve worked with various national and international brands where I honed my skills as a makeup artist while deepening my product knowledge in this vast beauty environment. I now take private makeup clients and work with fellow Bostonian MUA, Nelse Karini (2023 Best of Boston MUA).
I was thrilled to join the Petaloúda team from the very beginning. You can find me at the salon doing everything from managing the teams schedules, filming content, tending to the salon plants and everything in between!
The beauty industry holds a special place in my heart as it is a way for me to reclaim my power, transform myself, and embrace the most confident, unique version of who I want to be. Making others feel great about themselves and boosting their confidence is such an impactful experience. Plus it’s just plain fun!!
My favorite hair to wear is:
Platinum blonde, a fresh curled blowout with wispy, feather back bangs.
My favorite makeup to do is:
Sparkle/glitter eyes but soft glam and dewy face with tons of blush.
When I’m not at Petaloúda, you can find me:
Sleeping after listening to true crime or interrogation analysis, or researching some niche or other interesting phenomenon. I also love to travel, go to festivals and go out with my friends.

I grew up in the suburbs of northern New Jersey, attended Marist University, and after graduating worked at a strategic advisory and venture capital firm in NYC. While I thrived in the fast-paced world of new business, I yearned to pursue a lifelong dream – becoming a hairstylist.
Following my passion, I attended Artistic Academy in New Jersey and began my journey in hair. While I gained valuable experience working briefly in Jersey, most of my training and expertise stem from the past five years at a top salon on Newbury Street in Boston.
My love for startups fuels my excitement to join Petaloúda as a founding member. Petaloúda’s innovative spirit aligns perfectly with my desire to be part of something new and fresh.
My fascination with the beauty industry began in elementary school, long before the era of effortless curls. Doing hair and makeup for myself and friends brought me immense joy. In fact, I still have a letter from my mom at my 8th-grade graduation, where she wished me luck on my future career as a hairstylist (or an astronaut, but clearly that didn’t work out).
The main things I love about the industry are getting to help people feel their best, meeting and engaging with people of all ages with various backgrounds, and being in a field that is inherently creative and not dependent on a screen. Another thing I love is that this industry is always changing. Trends are constantly popping up and evolving and, in a way, I feel like I’m a forever student honing their craft. I feel so lucky to have found a profession I genuinely love, alongside colleagues I value.
My favorite hair to do is:
I love working with your natural color, not always fighting it. My favorite colors are where we enhance what you’ve already got. For me, this particularly means more lived-in foil work using your natural color as the depth and dimension. This allows for a seamless grow out that keeps the color looking flattering along the way. I also have a special place for brunettes as a pretty particular one myself. As far as cuts go I feel I’m strongest with a sharp bob or anything longer -- and I love a good bang. I also really enjoy doing longer men’s cuts.

I embarked on my hairdressing journey in September 2021, enrolling at Toni & Guy in Braintree, MA. Just a few months later, in February 2022, I officially began my career as a hairstylist.
For me, hair is a powerful tool for self-expression. It allows individuals to showcase their inner beauty and truly shine. The connections you're able to build all while making other people feel like the best version of themself is truly amazing. The amount of creativity and opportunity is endless.

Dimensional Color is definitely my favorite to work with for how creative you can be on every canvas.

I grew up in Sudbury, Ma and currently live in South Boston. I went to college at Assumption University, where I fell in love with teaching and have now been teaching elementary school in Worcester for 11 years! (I promise the commute is not as crazy as it sounds!) I have taught all grades, but my favorite would probably be what I am teaching now, which is 6th grade ELA. Reading and writing has always been a passion of mine and I love to share it with the children!
With a background in education, I have a passion for connecting with people. This, combined with my love for all things hair and beauty, makes it a natural fit for me to greet you at the door! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have and help you schedule appointments with our talented stylists. While you might not see me as often during the school year, I love being able to see and connect with you as much as possible!
